School scholarships

More than 25 years ago we began providing 2 scholarships, total value $300, to the local primary schools to help defray the costs parents encountered when their child transitioned to secondary school. The scholarship was provided to either Tatura Primary School or to Sacred Heart Primary School in alternate years. The intention was for the scholarship to go to 2 students whose parents would otherwise have difficulty meeting the expenses of the transition. The scholarship was not to be awarded for excellence.

The schools select the recipients.

We now provide $500 to each of Tatura Primary and Sacred Heart each year.

Each student is presented a certificate at an appropriate event, usually a school assembly at Sacred Heart and at the Carols by Candle Light event for the Tatura Primary School .

The money is given to the school (Sacred Heart) or used to purchase credit at a uniform shop for the students from Tatura Primary School.
